Jennifer talks her new film “Miracles from Heaven” with as the trailer has been released.

Sometimes what you need is a miracle.

That’s exactly what Christy Beam and her husband prayed for night after night in the upcoming film Miracles from Heaven – and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at the trailer.

Starring Jennifer Garner, the film tells the emotional story of Beam’s 12-year-old daughter Annabel, who survived a 30-ft. fall from a tree and told her parents she had visited heaven – then was inexplicably cured from her terminal digestive disorder.

“He told me I’d be fine,” Annabel, played by Kylie Rogers 11, says in the trailer as Garner looks at her in disbelief.

And for Garner, 43, reading Beam’s memoir for the first time made the decision to sign on to the film an easy one.

“I stayed awake all night after reading Miracles from Heaven,” she told PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “There was something about this family, this mother and daughter, and this telling of the story that I felt I just had to be a part of.”

Garner, a mother of three, says she felt “very maternal” towards Kylie and bonded with her younger costar “over crafts and books and braiding hair.”

“She is special beyond compare,” she adds.

Producer Joe Roth agrees, noting that their bond certainly translates on-screen.

“[Garner] made Kylie feel really comfortable,” Roth tells PEOPLE. “You never don’t feel that they’re mother and daughter.”

Also starring Queen Latifah and Martin Henderson, Miracles from Heaven hits theaters March 18, 2016.

“When people see this movie I hope they are reminded of the power of love and hope and family and prayer,” says Garner.
