Olympics-watching making you reach for extra coffee? Jennifer Garner is right there with you.

“I do not have the bandwidth for the Olympics right now but I can’t not watch it,” the mom of three told USA TODAY’s Andrea Mandell this morning while ordering a strong coffee. “I cry every time they show the parents, every time they show the teammates, every time they show someone proud of themselves. Even if it’s for another team.”

Last night she took in Nathan Adrian, who “sneaked in” and surprised with a gold in the 100-meter freestyle. “I love that guy!” And after watching the U.S. women take the 4×200-meter freestyle relay: “Don’t you want to stand up and say the Pledge of Allegiance?”

Meanwhile, the upcoming star of The Odd Life of Timothy Green is basically functioning on an Olympics clock. Just back from a trip to her home state of West Virginia, “my kids are adjusting from East Coast time,” Garner said, “so my baby thought three in the morning, it was morning. And then I finally got him down for a nap at 4:30 a.m. and then I was having a sleepover with my middle daughter, and she woke up just as I got the youngest down.”

Though tired, Garner was still full of Olympic spirit. “But what am I going to miss in the Olympics tonight? That’s what I’m so stressed about! I’m going to have to go to bed.”
