September 27, 2011  •  Comments Off on Jen Talks Holiday Traditions, Pregnancy, & Keeping Kids Out of the Kitchen!

Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing the lovely Jennifer Garner to talk about the new campaign she is promoting as a brand ambassador for Frigidaire. I first spoke to Jen back in July in New York, but since this interview was LA-based, we had a nice chat over the phone. As I said after I interviewed her this summer, she is 100% just as sweet as she seems!

The first thing I did was to congratulate Jennifer on her pregnancy, and I asked her how she is feeling. She said that she is doing well, and that she is finally “past all the yucky stuff!”

It’s a good thing that she’s over that “yucky stuff,” because when I spoke to her, she had just enjoyed a roundtable discussion with chef Suzanne Goin to talk about and share holiday traditions, recipes, and memories. It would have been hard talking about food if she were still suffering from morning sickness!

I asked Jennifer what some of her favorite holiday recipes were, and she had sweet potato casserole and homemade cornbread at the top of her list. In fact, Jen even does holiday cooking herself instead of having it catered.

Jen also gave me information on how Frigidaire is making holiday cooking a bit easier this year with its new Frigidaire Range With Symmetry Double Ovens. The freestanding range can cook two whole turkeys at once, and it even preheats in 4 minutes, saving you plenty of time in the kitchen.

Garner also reported that the Frigidaire Range with Symmetry Double Ovens is smudge and fingerprint proof, which is perfect for moms who have plenty of sticky fingers in their households.

Speaking of sticky fingers… Jennifer gave a great tip for how to keep the kids out of the kitchen while you are preparing your holiday meals. She told me that she tries to do as much prep work in the week before the holiday to avoid being interrupted by the kids on the actual day. She also added that it helps if there is a grandparent nearby to keep the children busy while she cooks! (Didn’t I tell you that she’s just like us)?

Jennifer is also encouraging people to visit Frigidaire.com to help give back and benefit a great cause. For the first 500 visits to the site, Frigidaire will donate a turkey to a Save the Children family. Also, for every single visit to the site, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children.

As an added bonus, all site visitors can enter to win one of the new Frigidaire Ranges with Symmetry Double Ovens. Wouldn’t one of those come in handy this holiday season?

It was so great to talk to Jennifer again. I felt like I was talking to a friend instead of an A-list celebrity! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to watch her bump grow through the holiday season!
