US Today caught up with Jen at the CinemaCon and talked about being a mom and how she might not be so deserving of the honor she received!
It’s been exactly two months since Jennifer Garner gave birth to her third child, Samuel, and wow, does she look great. And boy, is her sense of humor high.
Garner, 40, accepted the female star of the year award at CinemaCon in Las Vegas Thursday — but made it clear to the audience she’s not so sure she’s so deserving of the honor.
“I told my mom the other day I was getting this award . . . and I was excited and feeling proud and thought she was going to be proud, and then there was this pause on the other end of the line,” Garner, looking slim and chic in a black Michael Kors dress, said during her acceptance speech, reports Us. “She said, ‘Jennifer, do these people know you haven’t worked in the last year?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I feel they probably know what I’ve been up to. I haven’t stepped foot on a set. You are correct, mom.’ ”
Garner’s comedy routine went on: “She said, ‘Can they take this back? Because every time I talk to you, you are breastfeeding, you are running car pool, you are on the library committee — you are not acting!’ ”
But it sounds like the female star, seen next in August’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green, is ready to start reading lines. She thanked husband Ben Affleck “for making me feel like maybe someday I will get to relax in a hair and makeup chair again and leave the maniacs at home with you!”
